Pic of the Week: A visitor at our campsite

It’s been awhile since I shared my favourite posts of the week. I’m going to blame this on the number of fantastic new writing/writers’ blogs I have come across recently, and a recent camping trip. So much to read, so little time!

Here are five posts I recently discovered that I hope you’ll enjoy:

1. Write it Sideways – 6 Easy Ways to Get Your Guest Post Rejected:

Suzannah, author of Write it Sideways, gives six examples of what not to do when querying to write a guest blog post.

2. terribleminds – 25 Things You Should Know About Writing a Novel:

I don’t know how I had never heard of terribleminds.com or Chuck Wendig before last week, but somehow, I hadn’t. If you haven’t checked out Chuck’s blog, I’d highly recommend it for a laugh and a writerly reality check. It just might be my new favourite blog of all time.

3. Writer Unboxed – 5 Things More Important Than Talent:

Most of us would love to hear that we’re talented writers, but there are many other qualities that are better indicators of success according to Jane Friedman. Read Jane’s post ‘5 Things More Important Than Talent‘ to see if you have what it takes.

4. this literary life – 10 Days of Advice for Writers – Day #1:

Follow along as literary agent Bree Ogden posts Tom Robbins‘ top ten tips for writers on her blog – one tip each day.

5. Anne R. Allen’s Blog – 7 Dos and 7 Don’ts for New Bloggers:
